Our collaboration with Reena of Hyggeforhome was born from a joint passion for product design and the possibilities that our two aesthetics could create.
Focused on quality of materials, depth of finish and "soft to the touch" linens we set ourselves a brief that would be worthy of both brands. We wanted to amalgamate our two recognisable handwritings. Merging the comforting Skandi style that Reena is well known for with the minimal yet luxury design of lights&lamps.
Pairing our palettes was the first step. Collecting materials and finishes that felt right together. Contrasting but complimenting. Metals, woods and linens that elevated simplicity and made luxury more relaxed.
Material decisions was the first step. Creating a collection of lights and lamps that emphasised those choices was the next. We knew if we designed real lighting solutions for real homes then this would help focus those decisions. Using Reena's home as our backdrop meant that we could use form and scale against a real life setting. What would create a statement in a stairwell, add a softness to the dining area, add a warm glow to a living room corner or add subtle texture to a plain wall. All these questions exist in every home and so we ensured the designs we created would suit the spaces in Reena's home as well as anybody else's.
The Reena Simon collection was made from a labour of love. Every detail has been considered: from the frayed hems of the Solara pendants, the light touch of the frameless Folia shades, the organic feel to our charred Aska lamps to the luxurious feel of our solid brass Guilla spotlights.
This is a collaboration of minds, of passion and creativity. Meticulous attention to detail and the sense of feeling each piece creates. A curated mix of detail, form and texture, of relaxed simplicity. A collection that is minimalist luxury but maximalist with pride. We hope you love it as much as we do!
