There’s something about Mediterranean interiors that stays with you. Warm tones, natural textures, worn-in materials and the soft quality of light that changes throughout the day.
These were the starting points for Vela y Villa, our latest collection, created by Niki Wright and Scarlett Hampton.
Bringing together handwoven seagrass, soft linen, ceramic, marble and aged metals, the collection reimagines familiar lights&lamps materials through a Mediterranean lens. Sculptural forms sit alongside more traditional details, creating pieces that feel relaxed yet considered.
Designed for relaxed spaces
From the reversible seagrass and linen Binibeca pendants, which can be positioned for either uplighting or downlighting, to the softly rounded forms of Comares and Jiliana, each design brings texture and warmth into the room.
The Olvera oversized table lamp combines a dark earthenware base with a loosely pleated linen shade, while Senõr pairs richly veined Emperador marble with a simple fabric shade. Together, the collection moves between natural, sculptural and softly traditional details.
The result is lighting made for layered interiors, pieces that bring warmth during the evening while sitting comfortably within coastal, rustic and contemporary spaces.
A collection inspired by warmer days
As Niki and Scarlett put it, Vela y Villa was created to bring the feeling of sunny days indoors. Textures, colours, ceramics and stone come together to evoke the atmosphere of a villa somewhere warm, even as the seasons change.
The collection has since been featured by Livingetc, highlighting its considered silhouettes, soft textures and earthen tones, alongside some of the standout designs from the range.
