Caring for your lights
At lights&lamps, we design all of our lighting with care and intention, using materials that are as beautiful as they are timeless. From natural linens to sculptural stone and hand-finished details, our pieces are made to be admired for years to come - and a little care goes a long way. Here’s how to keep your lighting looking its best.

Linen lampshades
We recommend using a hair dryer on a low and cold setting to gently blow away any dust.
Spot clean with a barely damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Avoid soaking.
Keep away from moisture to prevent distortion or stretching.
Rattan & wood
Dust with a dry cloth or soft brush.
For deeper cleaning, wipe with a damp (not wet) cloth and dry immediately.
Avoid extreme heat or humidity to keep the fibres from warping.
Use mild soap sparingly and always test in an unseen spot first.
Alabaster stone & porcelain
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only.
Avoid water, sprays, or acidic cleaners as they can damage the surface.
Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Handle carefully as Alabaster can chip if knocked.
Glass
Use a clean, lint-free cloth and a mild glass cleaner or vinegar/water solution.
For textured glass, a soft brush or toothbrush helps lift dust from grooves.
Always dry thoroughly before reassembling.
Marble
Dust regularly with a dry, soft cloth.
Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner or mild soap and water - no bleach, lemon, or vinegar.
Wipe dry straight after cleaning to avoid marks or dulling.
